One sentence
Kinfolio is a private personal CRM for iPhone and Android: it remembers what matters about the people in your life and keeps your notes on your device, with no account.
One paragraph (about 80 words)
Kinfolio helps you remember what matters about the people in your life: the names of a friend’s kids, a client’s allergy, what you talked about last time. Each person gets a card with facts, dates and a journal of conversations. An hour before a calendar meeting, Kinfolio sends a short briefing about who you are meeting, and it nudges you when it is time to get in touch. There is no account: the data stays on the device, with optional encrypted sync through your own iCloud or Google Drive.
Longer (about 200 words)
Most of us forget the small things that make relationships work: the name of a colleague’s daughter, a gift idea someone mentioned in passing, the question we meant to ask next time. Kinfolio is a personal CRM built for exactly that: for family, friends and the people your work depends on, not for sales pipelines.
Every person gets a card: pinned facts at the top, important dates with reminders and a journal of what you talked about. Kinfolio can import names and birthdays from your contacts, shows upcoming dates and people you haven’t heard from in a while on its Today screen and in a home-screen widget, and, if you let it read your calendar, sends a quiet briefing an hour before a meeting: who it is, what matters to them, what you wanted to ask.
Privacy is part of the architecture. There is no account and no Kinfolio server for your notes: the database lives on the device. Sync between devices is optional, encrypted on the device before upload and runs through your own iCloud or Google Drive, protected by a 12-word recovery phrase. Optional AI features, such as turning a few dictated sentences or a photo of a business card into a new card, run only when you tap them.
Kinfolio is free for up to five people. Kinfolio Pro (€2.99 a month or €24.99 a year) adds unlimited people, sync, backups and AI without your own key. The app is available in nine languages and is made by HollyByte, an independent studio.
Story angles
If you are looking for a story rather than a feature list:
- Privacy by architecture, not by promise. Kinfolio has no account and no server that stores your notes. By default the developer receives only crash reports; usage statistics need your consent, and AI requests are sent only when you tap. Sync goes through your own cloud and is encrypted on the device first.
- A briefing before you meet. An hour before a calendar meeting, a notification tells you who you are meeting, what matters to them and what you wanted to ask. People are matched by the email addresses of attendees or by the name in the event title, and it works for group meetings too.
- One developer, two stores, nine languages. Kinfolio is built and maintained by one person at HollyByte: the Flutter app, the encrypted sync, the AI server and nine localizations. Happy to talk about what that takes.
Recently in Kinfolio
- October 2026 · Person from a photo. Snap a business card, a conference badge or a door sign, and AI drafts a new card for you to check before saving. A chat screenshot becomes a journal note the same way. Location data is removed from photos before they leave the phone.
- October 2026 · Holiday circle. From 1 November to 7 January, a seasonal list of the people you want to greet over the holidays, with progress and gift ideas from their cards. In December it also runs as an In-App Event on the App Store.
- September 2026 · Describe to AI. Type or dictate a few sentences about someone you just met, and AI turns them into a card that you review before saving.
- August–September 2026 · Group meetings, widget, nine languages. Briefings now cover group meetings, a home-screen widget shows upcoming dates, and the app speaks nine languages.
